A New Adventure!
It may be a crazy idea, but I know it will be a fun one. There are a billion books out there just waiting for that moment to be opened, and a story waiting to be told. But how do you know if the book you want to read is going to be a thriller to your senses, or not? Well that’s my thought for this blog to get the word out of the books I read, and I’ve invited a dear friend who shares my passion for the written word to join me in telling the world of what we have read so others may find an adventure to thrill their mind and soul as it does ours.
Enjoy!~

I’m a graphic designer by trade, but an avid reader at heart. I devour books like my lungs devour air, and I get lost in a story like it were my own. Passion, adventure, thrills, and love entrance me with every word as my imagination soars me into one world after another. I read books in any form from hard back and paper back to my kindle and audio books. I read so many that the habitual buying of new books becomes an expense like a fashionista buys designer shoes only I don’t buy a $500 book. I read on my porch, in my favorite reading chair, in my car, on the couch, while I clean, while I work, in the comfort of my bed, and yes even when I sleep. Reading is my adventure, Reading is my passion.
Vernan von Verbgardener:
I have a passionate love of reading, and I’m really proud to be a part of this blog. Briefly, my favorite book of all time is probably The Count of Monte Cristo, and my favorite author is undoubtedly Umberto Eco. I’m passionate about all forms of story telling and artistic medium, and I will frequently discuss not just books, but short stories, blogs, and even comics.
I’m the type of reader who feels that the events should serve the purpose of the story and not hinder it, and so when I look at a piece of fiction I really like to get into what I feel the author intended to do. I will often try to get past what is said and try to walk away with an understanding of what I was supposed to feel or what I was supposed to think. But, I also really really love a good fun mindless read. I tend to judge different books in different ways.
I like to think that a good judge of a book can recommend the right book to the right person regardless of personal taste, and when they talk about those books they can talk about what the book is supposed to be, rather than judging based on some kind of ideal great book. I like to think that thinking about my reading like this makes me available to some really good discussions about the quality of a body of work, and I look forward to some good talk about great stories.
